Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of certicancel.com and the services we offer there. CertiCancel is operated by Capital Shell Limited Liability Company ("we", "us"), 9 S Elmhurst Road, PO Box #39, Prospect Heights, IL 60070. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. What we do

We prepare cancellation letters from the details you give us, collect your electronic signature, and mail the signed letter by USPS Certified Mail to the address shown in the letter. For companies that only cancel by phone, we call the company on your behalf when you ask us to. We also publish free guides about how companies take cancellations.

2. Letter orders and the $29 fee

A mailed letter costs $29. You pay when you place the order, before we mail anything. Payment is processed by Stripe. We aim to mail your letter within one business day after payment and email you the USPS tracking number.

3. Refunds

If we fail to mail your letter, we refund the full $29. To ask for a refund, email hello@certicancel.com from the address you used to order. Once the letter is mailed, the fee is not refundable, including when a company refuses or ignores the cancellation.

4. Phone cancellation requests

When you ask us to cancel by phone, there is no charge unless the cancellation is confirmed. After the company confirms it, we email you the confirmation details and a link to pay $29. If the company needs to speak with the account holder, you agree to be available or to authorize the call as the company requires.

5. No guarantee of the company's response

We send your notice or make your call. We do not control the companies you cancel with, and we do not guarantee that a company will accept, process or honor a cancellation, stop billing, refund any amount or waive any fee. Your contract with that company still applies, including any notice period, fee or required form.

6. Your information and authorization

You confirm that you are the account holder or have the account holder's permission, and that the details you provide are true and complete. You are responsible for the content of the letter you review and sign. Your signature authorizes us to send that letter on your behalf, as described in the signing authorization.

7. Not legal advice

We are not a law firm, and nothing on this site or in our letters is legal advice. Our guides summarize what companies publish and may be incomplete or out of date. Check your own contract, and talk to a lawyer if you need legal advice.

8. Guides and company names

CertiCancel is independent and not affiliated with any company listed. Company names are used only to describe their cancellation process.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to cancel an account you aren't authorized to cancel, to send false information, or to harass anyone. We may refuse or cancel an order that we believe breaks these terms, and we refund it if we haven't mailed it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including charges a company continues to bill.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, unless the law requires otherwise.
