How CertiCancel Works
A signed letter mailed certified for companies that want it in writing, and a phone call made for you when that's the only way.
Cancelling by certified letter
Step 1
Find your company
Search our guides. Each one shows how the company takes cancellations, where notices go and how much notice it needs.
Step 2
Enter your account details
Your name and address as they appear on the account, your email and phone, your account number if you have it, and the date you want billing to stop. For gyms and clubs that take notice at your home location, you add that address.
Step 3
Check the letter
We fill in the letter from your details. Read it before you sign. If anything is wrong, go back and fix it.
Step 4
Sign on screen
Agree to sign electronically, type your full name and draw your signature with a finger or mouse. We record when and how you signed.
Step 5
Pay $29
You pay by card through Stripe. We never see your full card number.
Step 6
We mail it certified
We print your signed letter and mail it USPS Certified within one business day, then email you the tracking number.
Cancelling by phone
Some companies only cancel by phone. Open the company's guide and send a call request with your name, contact details, the account holder's name and what to cancel. We call the company, wait on hold and turn down the offers. If the company needs to hear from the account holder, we contact you first.
Once the company confirms the cancellation, we email you the confirmation details and a $29 payment link. If it doesn't get cancelled, you don't pay.
What you get
- For letters: the USPS tracking number and the delivery record.
- For calls: the confirmation details the company gives us.
- Free guides with the official links, so you can check every detail yourself.
What we can't do
- We can't promise a company will honor a cancellation, but you'll have proof you asked.
- We can't sign forms that must be notarized.
- We aren't a law firm and don't give legal advice.
